My son has been attending Jae H Kim Taekwondo Institute for over three years now. The school offers a structured environment for learning and encourages discipline.

The teachers have helped my child achieve his goals of improving his self-defense skills, fitness, and self-confidence.

I started training here about 4 years ago, with no background in Martial Arts. One of the best decisions I have made. The training is amazing and you see progress really quickly. Master Kim is incredibly knowledgeable and pays great attention to detail, which makes all the difference. The community at the school is also very tight, with everyone helping each other.

Highly recommend!!

We’ve (12y and 10y) been attending this Taekwondo school for the past two months and couldn’t be happier! After few private practice lessons, they joined group setting.

One of the biggest advantages is the incredible flexibility, classes are offered every single day, with 2–3 different time slots during the week as well as options on weekend, making it easy to fit into any schedule.

The kids have amazing instructors who teach not only proper technique and exact form, but also structure and discipline. They provide consistent, constructive feedback, helping the children progress effectively and confidently.

The facilities are clean, neat, and well-maintained, with lockers. It was a little hot in the summer, but otherwise great.

Overall, this is likely and fairly the best Taekwondo school around.

I highly recommend this place! Out of the many good things about this place, two things that stuck out in my pursuit of getting my black belt were the instructors and their quality of teaching. They are helpful and supportive, care about the development of each individual, and are always willing to answer questions and concerns. This place also has a great atmosphere—people are friendly and willing to help all the time.

There are several things that you need to consider in a martial arts school. The instructor is probably the most important one than the actual style of martial art. Are the instructors qualified to teach or care about their students? Are there enough classes offered to keep a regular schedule? This school checks all right criteria to be a good school. Not only a good one, it is probably one of the best one in the world!

This happens to be my 22nd martial arts school I attended during my lifetime, and I will have really hard time when I need to relocate due to my job. I am spoiled to drop in whenever I want since there are classes both noon time and in the afternoon all week. No schools have such a vast class offering.

Thank you Mr. Hwang!

It's a great place! Lots of classes for different age and level skills. Master Hwang (the owner) is an awesome teacher! He can give anybody a great workout. His skills are extraordinary. If you want to learn TKD this is the place!

i have been going here for about a year and i am more than impressed. they know more than i could ever remember about tae kwon do they are world experts. they are very professional and always respectful. they offer a crazy amount of classes which is a upside. it is a very traditional martial arts school i went to more of a mma style of school before and i loved that and this is deferentially more methodical. over all i would give it an A.

I absolutely love coming here since I moved to Boston area three years ago and could not give a higher recommendation for this school.

Jae H. Kim is one of the best and most well-known institutes in the world and they live up to their reputation. Master Hwang in the Cambridge branch is a South Korean national champion and he and his staff are all great instructors giving you individualized attention getting to know you and your strengths and areas of improvement. Whether you're an absolute novice, a former TKD student/black belt, or a parent looking to have your kid in a sport that builds confidence and discipline, this is a place for everyone.

Originally coming here to try something new, I ended up finding an unexpected good group of friends amongst the other students. The classes are a mix of both individual and partner work, so we all end up getting to know each other and support one another throughout the workout. The adult classes are a great diversity of folks including students, retirees, young professionals, parents, and more. You can see the both kids and adults build more confidence and techniques as they go through the belt levels as well. Classes themselves focus on things such as perfecting techniques and various kicks, increasing cardio, learning combinations, sparring, etc. so there's a lot of variety. You can also sign up for the Black Belt program which gives you access to specialized classes and the Boston branch. Try it out and you won't be disappointed!

Our son began lessons here in January and is having a wonderful experience. The teachers are great, give detailed feedback, provide plenty of support, and are always responsive to his questions. Mr Hwang in particular is very kind and understands kids' motivation and how to help them push themselves and feel proud of their progress. My son looks forward to going to his lessons every week.

By far one of my best experiences growing up. Started TKD in 7th grade and went all throughout high school until I had to move away for college. The instructors were all great, personable yet disciplined. I went to the kids classes for middle school and then moved up to the adult classes. Met some of the nicest most genuine individuals while I attended TKD. Even during college I came back to visit Mr. Hwang and some friends! Although I haven't visited recently since moving out of MA, I know the school is just as great!!

I started here in late May of 2014 and stayed for almost a year before relocating to another city for a new job. I'd always wanted to learn martial arts since I was a kid, and after coming in to observe one of the All Levels classes, I decided to sign up for membership.

I absolutely loved my time at this school. Mr. Hwang is a wonderful instructor. He is friendly and at the same time sets a disciplined tone to the school. He is also very patient when explaining techniques, and pays a lot of attention to little details to help each student improve. I attended several classes led by Alex and Sean, who are also both extremely patient and knowledgeable instructors. Watching the two of them spar each other was always eye-opening and fun.

I would recommend this school to anyone interested in Taekwondo, self-discipline or opportunities to get a good workout. If I had time to commute in to Cambridge every afternoon to attend class I would!

Mr. Hwang is an amazing instructor and person, many martial arts schools have "teachers" who seldom teach, but Mr. Hwang creates a friendly yet serious vibe. Great workout.

recommends JHK Cambridge is a fantastic place for TKD training. The instructors are some of the best and everyone there makes you feel part of a fun team. No judgement, just friends learning together. You will learn not only TKD but self respect and perseverance. I had trained there for six years and while I am now thousands of miles away, I frequently wish I could be at the school kicking and taking the stress out of my life. ;-)

recommends This is a great TaeKwonDo studio. They work really well with kids and adults. It has been the one activity my daughter loves and much of that goes to the instructors who make it a good learning environment. I also truly love the flexibility with class schedules.
